As an artist and a energy medicine practitioner, I have the pleasure of using gems and stones as design elements and for healing. Labradorite is one of my favorite stones for jewelry and for aiding others.
According to an Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. It is told that a wandering Eskimo warrior found them and was able to free most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear. Some of the lights were still trapped within the stone, and thus we have today the beautiful mineral known as Labradorite.
This remarkable stone houses intriguing flashes of light, ranging from greens, blues and golds, or sparkling silver. People are always surprised to discover the beauty of this stone when it shows off its iridescence, when moved slightly in indoor or outdoor light. When indicated in a healing session I place a large heart shaped Labradorite on the heart, brow or where otherwise called for, to awaken the qualities attributed to the stone.
The metaphysical uses of this brilliant stone include: To clear, balance and protect the aura, aid in bringing clarity and insight into your destiny, and attract success. It also helps with dream recall and in learning new ways to use dreams in daily life. Labradorite is also an excellent tool/aid to help increase intuition, psychic development, and mystical wisdom and to bring good luck.
You have to see it to appreciate it’s magical allure. I’ll be showcasing several necklaces and pendants that feature this beautiful stone in upcoming holiday craft shows. Come take a look! Click here
